A Legendary Team.
A New Home.
Brazilian Top Team was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 2000 by Murilo Bustamante and a group of elite competitors from Carlson Gracie's legendary academy — and went on to become one of the most decorated teams in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA history.
In 2003, that legacy crossed into the United States: BTT Boston, co-founded by Prof. Daniel Gazoni, became the first recognized BTT affiliate in the country and has been the premier BJJ academy in New England ever since.
BTT Bridgewater brings that same lineage, curriculum, and standard to the South Shore — a purpose-built academy at 620 Bedford Street where adults, kids, and complete beginners train under direct BTT instruction, led by black belts. Opening August 2026.
Discipline. Community.
Respect.
Discipline
Progress in Jiu-Jitsu can’t be bought or faked — it’s earned one class at a time. We hold a high standard because the standard is what changes people.
Community
The person drilling with you today will hand you your next breakthrough. We build training partners, not rivals — a room where everyone’s progress matters.
Respect
For your coaches, your partners, and the art. Egos don’t survive on the mats, and that’s exactly the point. Everyone taps; everyone learns.
Every Black Belt
Was Once a Beginner
There are no shortcuts between these bars — just mat time, guided by coaches who've walked every step of it. Where you start doesn't matter. That you start does.
